Our IEARN partners in Taiwan, Canada, Egypt and Pakistan created great publications about their local footprints. Here is our final reflection about the topic. https://prezi.com/xdxwn6nlpm8i/learning-with-the-world-not-just-about-it/

ELA Local Footprints Making a Global Impact https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHYu_t6Swd4 The littering group has taken pictures of our town, near KFC and Taco Bell which is on a main road. Also, we have taken pictures from Creative Commons and we have recorded voices for the narration. We’ve created an animation of the earth exploding for the end of the video. The explosion is just an exaggerated example of what could happen due to excessive pollution.
We have struggled with communicating with each other, as well as, editing the recorded video and adding the voice over to it. One day only two group members were present. Our biggest challenge was getting each group member to meet up to begin the video recording and picture taking process. Some of our strengths have included working well together and generating creative ideas. Each group member was given a specific task to complete. Members of the group have shown varying degrees of successful collaboration. Contributed By: Darren, Nate, Isabela, Corrine, Sabrina and Jake. Our senior class is doing a global project focusing on teenage driving. Specifically, we are looking into the reckless and carelessness of teenage driving. We’ve decided to look into five different areas that affect our community and potentially affect yours too!
Littering, thrill driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, sleep deprivation, stress, anger and phone distractions are all areas we agree lead to careless and reckless behavior behind the wheel. The littering group is focusing specifically on the IEARN Global Issue project. We are exploring how the carelessness of littering can pile up into having a global impact. Not only can roadside litter cause accidents but also harm our planet as well. The thrill driving group is focusing more on how teenagers abuse their privileges and go on risky dangerous daring rides. The DWUI group is planning to target teenage partying and hopes to bring attention to our responsibility as a driver. The sleep deprivation/stress/anger group simply wants to explore the different scenarios that teenagers may experience and how they cope with it through driving. The last group is exploring phone distractions which, according to the CDC, is one of the biggest causes of accidents. This group covers all types of distractions that may occur while driving.
